Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born March 4th, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress comedian, writer, and actress. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous prizes which include one Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also was awarded two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara became famous as an actor when she joined in 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. Alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd as co-stars, she was in the main cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). The following year, O'Hara and Candy began working in the sketch comedy program Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew the attention of critics for both her performance as a comedic actress and as a writer, winning an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for an Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
